Higher Education Teaching and Government/Corporate Training

Sukanlaya has more than 15 years in Higher Education teaching as well as Corporate Education and Training, ranging from small to large classes (350+ students, and 10+ teaching team size).  Her teaching philosophy is to care for and engage with learners and to create a positive learning experience. Recognizing that learners with various psycho-social and cultural backgrounds prefer their learning in different ways, her strategy is to develop resources to engage and facilitate learning among diverse cohorts, using cultural inclusive pedagogy.

Sukanlaya has been given several awards for her teaching performance.  She has held teaching appointments at multiple institutions across continents such as Australia (e.g. Australian Catholic University, The University of Queensland, Griffith University, Queensland University of Technology), Europe (e.g. University of Leicester, Coventry University, Montpelier Business School) and Asia (e.g. Zhejiang Gongshang University, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Nanjing Audit University, Chulalongkorn University).

Sukanlaya's teaching has covered Organisational Behaviour, HRM, Innovation and Small Business Management, International Management, Entrepreneurship, Occupational Stress Management and a variety of research topics.  Example of units taught are below.

Intercultural Communication
This course provides the understanding of how culture impacts various aspects of business such as international business relations, trust building, performance of multicultural teams, conflicts and conflict resolution and, most importantly, communication.

Business Negotiation 
​This course allows learners to develop negotiation skills and understand negotiation in useful analytical frameworks.

Innovation Management
This course provides learners with an understanding of how creativity and innovation can be facilitated and managed in a work setting.

Entrepreneurship and Innovation
This course assists learners to develop knowledge of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management through the study of new ventures, and management of small firms

Organisational Behaviour
This course provides students with an understanding of contemporary issues in human behaviour within organisational contexts. 

Introduction to Project Management
This course provides learners with the discipline of project management and expand on the tools, techniques, and benefits of using a standard project management methodology
