
Professor Sukanlaya Sawang has an outstanding track record of securing and leading major research projects and grants across multiple disciplines. She has successfully attracted over £1.5 million in research funding, leading initiatives funded by prestigious bodies such as UKRI, the British Academy, the Royal Society of Edinburgh, and the Australian Research Council. Her projects span innovation management, entrepreneurial ecosystems, AI maturity frameworks, wellbeing tourism, sustainable development, and youth unemployment solutions. Notable projects include leading a Knowledge Transfer Partnership on AI-enabled adaptive learning, a British Academy project on innovation and sustainability, and a UKRI-funded international collaboration on AI maturity frameworks for the UK and Japan). She also contributed as a partner lead to a UKRI GCRF project addressing youth unemployment in Africa.
