ROLES

Sawang is currently a Research Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Edinburgh Napier University, where she also serves as Director of the Centre for Business Innovations and Sustainable Solutions (CBISS) and Head of the Management Group. Additionally, she holds adjunct positions at Queensland University of Technology (Australia) and Chulalongkorn University (Thailand).

Background

Sukanlaya Sawang holds degrees in organisational psychology and innovation management. She has gained extensive international experience working across public service, banking, and higher education sectors in Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America. Over her career, she has held leadership roles such as Associate Dean and Research Director at universities in the UK and Australia.

ENGAGEMENT

Beyond academia, Sawang has advised small businesses in Asia and Australia, developed entrepreneurship curricula, delivered training for the Asian Productivity Organization, and contributed expert input to Australia’s Innovation Policy Report.

Research

Sawang’s interdisciplinary research bridges psychology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, focusing on topics such as entrepreneurial behaviour, technology adoption, and business sustainability. She has led significant research projects, published widely, and collaborates with international partners.
